Train your chatbot

Teach your bot with documents, your website, and FAQs.

schedule4 min read

Training is what makes your bot yours. Nivi Chat reads the material you provide, breaks it into searchable knowledge, and uses it to answer questions accurately — citing your content instead of guessing.

  1. 1

    Open the Train page

On a chatbot card, click Train to open its knowledge base.
  2. 2

    Add your sources

Add knowledge in whichever form you have it:
    • Documents — upload PDFs, Word docs, or text files (product guides, policies, manuals).
    • Website — paste a URL and Nivi Chat will read the page content.
    • FAQ / text — paste answers to common questions directly.
  3. 3

    Wait for processing

Each source is processed in the background. When its status shows as ready, that knowledge is live and your bot can answer from it immediately.
  4. 4

    Test it

Use the Chat action to ask questions your customers would ask and confirm the answers are accurate.

Frequently asked questions

What file types can I upload to train my chatbot?

You can upload PDFs, Word documents, and plain text files. You can also train from a website URL or by pasting FAQ text directly.

How long does training take?

Each source is processed in the background, usually within a few moments. Once a source shows a ready status, your chatbot can answer from it immediately.

Can I update my chatbot’s knowledge later?

Yes. You can add new sources or remove outdated ones at any time from the Train page, and your chatbot uses the latest knowledge right away.

Does training use AI credits?

Yes, processing your content consumes AI credits. Larger document sets use more, so keep an eye on the credit meter in the sidebar.
